Windows 10 and PC Compatibility List
Getting started
In this guide, we’ll show everything you need to know when updating your Windows 10 OS. Before you update to the latest version of Windows, follow this guide to ensure that your software and hardware are fully compatible. Be sure to check back periodically for up-to-date information.
Windows 10 compatibility
Microsoft has released version 10 of the Windows operating system. Whenever a new operating system is released, we start gathering as much information as we can as to how your current software and hardware will interact with the new OS. While some companies stay ahead of the game and resolve any issues right away, others may take a while longer. Please keep in mind that due to the large number of variations possible for PC systems, it may take some time for manufacturers to achieve stability with their products and Windows 10.
To avoid any problems that may arise when you update to the newest Windows OS, we recommend you proceed with caution and do some research about the compatibility between the software and hardware you rely on every day and Windows 10. Below you’ll find a list of compatibility news related to Windows 10. We’ll be updating this list with the most recent information as soon as we learn of it. If you don’t see your software or hardware here, check back in a short while to see if it’s been added.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us here.
About Windows 10 updates
If you’re new to Windows 10 or are thinking about upgrading from an older version, there are a few things you need to know about Windows updates. Approximately every six months, Microsoft will release what’s called a Feature Update. These updates often add new features, fix bugs, and improve the overall performance of the operating system.
This is usually a good thing, but sometimes, an update can cause compatibility issues with your audio software or hardware drivers. This can be a headache, especially if you’re working on projects. While you can pause updates, it’s only for a certain amount of time. Once that time is up, you’ll be required to install it.
Check for Windows 10 updates
Since these feature updates are released every six months (typically in March and September), it’s always good practice to check for Windows 10 updates periodically. Checking is simple, too. All you need to do is click the Windows icon on the toolbar, type Updates, then click Check for updates.
Backing up your files: If a new Feature Update is available, it’s always good practice to back up your files. While these updates won’t delete your personal files, backing everything up will give you peace of mind.
