A good drum throne makes a huge difference for any drum player, so if you need to buy a new one (or just replace the one you have), we'll help you find your perfect fit.

Drum thrones are far more than mere chairs. Selecting the right seat can make a huge difference in minimizing fatigue, strain and stress, and keeping your legs, knees, back and joints healthy. Your drum throne can make all the difference when it comes to the tenure of your career as a musician.

How tall are you? When selecting a drum throne, you height matters a lot because you need to determine the right sitting position and height for yourself. Taller people are generally going to need higher thrones. Some people prefer to sit low with their knees slightly bent, while others prefer to stay elevated and sit so that their thighs are parallel. The most important thing when it comes to height is to make sure your drum throne adjusts low or high enough so you can sit in your desired position. Check out our handy filters on the left to narrow your search - simply select your desired minimum and maximum height for your drum throne and you'll find what you need in no time.

Besides height, you also have to think about what type of seat you want for your drum throne. We carry them all, but the three main types you'll find are round, square and saddle seats. A good seat will leave you feeling fresh even after a few hours of playing, with no numbness in your backside or thighs. Most people prefer saddle or round seats, so if you have never tried out a drum throne before, grab one of those and you won't be disappointed.

When it comes to the base of the drum throne, a four or three legged base is the norm. These typically give you the most stability, but we offer other options for you special snowflakes out there.

What about transport? If you need your throne to be easily portable, make sure to select a light throne with no back. On the other hand, if you aren't planning to move your throne around a lot, a heavier throne with a backrest will give you more comfort and stability. You can also add a backrest later on. If you've got a question about weight, give our Sales Engineers a call and they'll fill you in on the specs for any of our drum thrones.

Most drum thrones come in your standard black, although there are a few other color options out there.

Whichever drum throne you choose, Sweetwater carries the best brands drummers know and love. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, you'll find a solid drum throne here.
