Sweetwater started out as a mobile recording studio in a VW Bus. With our ability to capture exceptional moments at area concerts, church services, and other events, we formed a deep connection with Northeast Indiana's community of musicians, performers, and public speakers. Over four decades later, the Sweetwater Airstream takes this idea to a national level, giving people across the United States an immersive, hands-on experience that unlocks creativity, self-expression, and musical potential. Meeting musicians and creators where they are, we're sharing our passion, showcasing the latest innovations in audio technology, and providing a gateway to gear that ignites imagination and brings artistic ideas to life.

Serving Creators Everywhere

To overcome the challenges of bringing top-tier studio-quality sound to wherever creativity takes place, Sweetwater worked closely with renowned architectural firm Russ Berger Design Group to design the first professionally engineered, Dolby Atmos-compliant mixing room built inside an Airstream travel trailer.

Equipped with the most advanced digital and analog gear available — including an SSL System T mixing console, Avid MTRX II hardware with Pro Tools HDX, and a 7.1.4 PMC audio reference system — the Sweetwater Airstream is capable of reference-quality recording, mixing, streaming, podcasting, and even supporting live performances.

The Sweetwater Airstream will make appearances at music festivals, schools, trade shows, legendary recording studios, and iconic landscapes. Through workshops, demos, live performances, and a variety of immersive experiences, music enthusiasts of all kinds will have the opportunity to interact with sound in entirely new ways.
