Using the Launchkey Mini with an iPad
The LaunchKey and LaunchPad apps are free to download via the Apple App Store for iPad users with iPad 2 and above running at least iOS 5.1.
To use your LaunchKey Mini with an iPad you’ll need an Apple Camera Connection Kit. Per Novation, 3rd party versions of the Camera Connection Kit are unreliable. It is recommended that you use the official Apple kit.
To ensure your LaunchKey Mini works properly with your iPad, be sure to connect the USB cable to the LaunchKey Mini first, then to the Camera Connection Kit, and finally into the iPad.
When you Run the LaunchKey App, it will update your keyboard if needed. You will then have control of both the LaunchKey and LaunchPad apps. You can switch between them from the keyboard using the left/right “Track” buttons.
