How do I verify my Academic Copy of Pro Tools?

Students and educators who wish to purchase individual education versions of Pro Tools will be asked to provide proof of eligibility. Once your eligibility has been verified, you will receive your academic license for your software. Check Avid’s eligibility guidelines to see if you qualify.

Verifying your educational eligibility

Follow the steps below to verify your academic eligibility with Identit-e and activate your Pro Tools software with Avid.

NoteYou will not receive your iLok license or Pro Tools downloads until your eligibility has been verified with Avid.

Step 1: Convert Code

Enter your activation code here.

  • Delivered by box: If you purchased a shippable product, your academic verification code is located on the activation card within your box.
  • Delivered by download: If you purchased an electronic copy, your activation code is located within the Software Activation Instructions email from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.

Step 2: Verify Eligibility

Register with Identit-e and enter your new verification code here. Once Identit-e has accepted your academic eligibility request they will provide a final activation code to be used within your Avid account.

NoteIdentit-e will send the final code to the email address used to verify eligibility.

Step 3: Activate Software

Enter the new final activation code here. Once complete, Avid will deposit your Pro Tools license to your iLok account. Please use the iLok License Manager to move licenses from your iLok account to your physical iLok.
