PRS has introduced three new S2 Standard Satin models as part of their 2016 guitar lineup: The S2 Standard 22 Satin, the S2 Standard 24 Satin, and the S2 Singlecut Satin. Each guitar model will be available in Charcoal, McCarty Tobacco, Vintage Cherry, and Vintage Mahogany satin nitrocellulose lacquer finishes. The nitro finishes on these guitars are ultra thin — about 1 mil thick, which is just enough to protect the wood from moisture. The finish on a standard PRS guitar is 9-10 mils thick, which is already super thin. Rest assured, the finish on these new S2 Satins will not impede the resonance of the guitar whatsoever!
As with all S2 models, the new Satin models feature mahogany bodies and set mahogany necks, locking tuners, PRS-designed pickups, push/pull tone controls for coil splitting, and more!
