Sustainablility Matters
D’Addario is dedicated to making a difference for the planet, and as part of that commitment they created the Playback string recycling initiative. Since the inception playback, D’Addario has recycled over 1.3 million strings. And considering that 1.5 million pounds of strings end up in landfills each year, this young endeavor has already made a substantial difference.
Another of their sustainable initiatives is Promark’s landmark reforestation program, Play. Plant. Preserve., which provides seedlings to plant trees in family-owned forests in Tennessee. Since 2013, the program has replaced over 250,000 trees used to make drumsticks, and continues working toward its mission of replanting every tree by the year 2043. The goal is to become zero impact, so the beat can live on for generations to come.
