The Best
I've been using D'Addario strings for almost 50 years now. Back in my touring days, I would buy their strings buy the CASE.....several at a time, because we'd change the strings almost every day. That said, I've haven't bought strings for some time....that is until I broke a couple stings and found I was basically out of strings, so I went to Sweetwater's site and started poking around.... I saw these, read the reviews and called up James Masterson, my music-pro-bro there, and bought a couple packs. They came very quickly and I changed the strings on a couple of my electrics and was VERY happy with the sound. The strings have a beautiful, all-around sound....the bass was sold and full but not too boomy. The middle strings were very lively and produced a clear, non-muddy sound. AND the top stings were crisp and alive. Hit a C-chord....and the guitar had an added presence that my old Start never really had. I highly recommend these strings. Great value and great sound. CONS: Ok, it is not a perfect world, but I still miss strings coming in individual packs.....but that is more a broody comment and not a reflection on Sweetwater or D'Addario. Thanks, again, for the great service and pricing!
Delta Lady
The 2017 Firebird T is drenched in blues definition & tone. With pup adjustment I can make it bluesy soulful or driving note articulation using a brass slide. The instrument is first class fit & finish. It is slightly heavy but all the factors of the instrument combine to make it what it is. The volume & tone controls are sufficient for me. I play mostly country type blues with thumb & fingers. At times I use a brass slide. This is usually with an electric guitar.
Great Tone
Never thought a string could make so much difference in tone. I have used a bunch of different strings over the years and never thought too much about it. My favorites were Kurt Mangum strings and Gibson Bright Wires. Then a got a hold of a guitar (Strat) with the DAddario XL's on it and wow, great tone. They sound really good and clear without being overly bright. I use, and am reviewing, the 10-46 gauge. (I did try the 09-42s and was not impressed with the smaller gauge.). I would recommend you string one of your guitars with these and see for yourself.
D'ADDARIO EXL 110 NICKEL WOUND 10-46 STRINGS
I REALLY LIKE THESE STRINGS & FOR PLAYERS ON A BUDGET, THESE ARE SOME OF THE BEST GUITAR STRINGS AROUND. IF YOUR SWEAT IS NOT ESPECIALLY ACIDIC, THESE STRINGS CAN LAST QUITE AWHILE AS LONG AS YOU WIPE THEM DOWN AND USE SOME STRING CLEANER AFTER EACH USE WHICH WILL HELP YOUR STRINGS LAST.
My New Favorites
Switched to these from Dean Markleys and prefer the D'Addarios more. They just feel better under the fingers.

Just terrific strings.
Thanks Dave W
PS. Hey Joe you owe me!
Don't stay in tune
I have used Ernie Ball strings for many years and decided to try D'addario strings. The 1st set did not stay in tune at all. I decided to give them the benefit of doubt. I put on another brand new set, the same outcome. Not just the G string going out it was all of them and no rhyme or reason. I am going back to Ernie Balls on my Les Paul because they seem to agree with my guitar. Maybe D'addario strings are great for some folks but I hated them.
Sorry D'addario strings your done!
Not impressed
The E string broke during adjustment 2 weeks after installing. The tone is excellent but they're just too small to last any length of time. Won't purchase these strings again.
