D'Addario EXL110 XL .010-.046 Strings
Love them you can't go wrong with DAddario strings. They have good tone and last awhile for me. Most of my axes are strung with them and I will keep them in my inventory.
An industry standard at a great price
Can't beat the price of the bulk set, especially on Black Friday prices!
Always like to have at least ten sets of 10's and 10 sets of 9's at the house "just in case"
Great Guitar strings!
Been using this strings for years now and had been my first choice when buying guitar strings. Highly recommended! Thanks to Sweetwater for their great service!
The best strings
I've been using the D'Addario 10s for thirty years or so. I buy ten packs and usually have most of a box in reserve.
Best value for the money
Electric guitar strings have come a long way in the past 30yrs I've been playing. I was a diehard user of another brand and still think they are great strings, but when they were out of stock a friend told me about D'Addario's. They were a couple bucks cheaper than the other brand I was using. I was surprised how well the D'Addario's stayed in tune with the string bends. I buy from Sweetwater because of the fast shipping & if you buy a musical instrument they do a through inspection and make necessary adjustments before shipping.
Thanks
Paul
Electric Guitar strings
My Top choice Of electric guitar strings.
no issues at all
using these strings since the 90s. my opinion is it is a bright string. I use for rock and country. they seem to hold up longer than other strings i have tried. very economical also. Thanks Eric
Love these strings
I recently tried some "boutique" hand made strings that were 3 times the price of D'Addarios. I didn't notice any difference! Except my wallet was a lot lighter. These strings never let me down.
Completely Satisfied
Great strings delivered rapidly by a great company!
Electric guitar strings
D addario strings are always my go to. Consistently top shelf products. Amen!
Sweet Deal!
I couldn't pass up this Sweet offer from Sweetwater! Thank you!
I will never change to a different brand
I've been using D'Addario strings as long as I can remember. The first time I put them on I knew I'd never used anything else. Still use them exclusively. The 10 pack is always the way to go.
Daddario EXL110
Been using these for years , great strings , only thing wrong was Sweetwater forgot my candy LOL ! :)
Best strings
Awesome strings tone last longer than other strings I've played over the years … they just feel good while your playing
Consistently Great Strings
I've been using D'Addario strings for years. Every now and then I'll give another brand a try but I always come back to D'Addario. The 10-pack is an excellent value, especially if you play frequently and change your strings often.
Daddario, my go to
I've tried some others just to see and always come back to Daddario strings. For me they are consistent in tone & long lasting playability, I use exL1110's on my electrics & Custo Lights on acoustics.
String Thing
Using these strings forty years now....
Say no more!
Great for single-coil guitars
Not sure what it is, but I love the sound of these strings, particularly on my guitars with single-coil pickups where I hear exceptional clarity. They seem to last a long time, and the good news is that after using them for a couple of decades now, I've just about memorized the color scheme that tells you the string gauges!
Old faithful I suppose...
I've been playing (off and on admittedly) for a bit over 20 years at this point and I'd never tried these strings until very recently. I had been using a custom guage set by a smaller manufacturer (not taking anything away from them, they're excellent strings) and had run out. So I drove down to my local music shop and grabbed a set of these D'Addario's. While they don't have the near perfect balance the custom set has, the quality and tone (for lack of a better word) are wonderful and the price is only about a third of what the other brand was. Fiscally, this was a no-brainer.
Great Strings and even better Sales Rep!
I needed sets of new strings for a couple of Strats and my Tele so I called Ian Angle and he got me a great deal on some great strings!
Thank you, Ian and Sweetwater! (For the candy, too!)
Good strings
I've been using the D'Addario .10s on most of my guitars for the last 10 years and have never regretted it. I don't change strings until I get tone loss and even on the guitar I play daily, they last for months with a regular wipe-down. Tone is good.
Great strings.
Been using these for ages (10s). I've tried others, but I always go back to these. Very warm, they don't break on me, they sound good longer, super comfy feel and always provide a great bite and grip.
I've stopped giving the other brand a chance, I'll play these forever.
Strings
Really like these strings. Less tension than the brand I used for so many years. Much easier to play, stay in tune, and they actually last more than a gig or two. Extremely happy with these. As always, thank you Sweetwater and my go to guy, Ryan Murphy for always having my back, even when it's just a box of strings!
Reliable
I've been using D'Addrio 10 gauge strings almost from day one of my musical journey.I get the best play from XL's and will not use anything else.Buying them in the 10-pak I get a great deal on the price and I've always got strings in supply.I like to repair/customize guitars and sometimes that eats up strings,so I go through 'em.Thanks to Sweetwater and my Sales Engineer,Jake Trethaway,I'm always covered.
Great overall strings
I used these twenty years ago and then tried a bunch of other string over the last ten years, only to come back to D'addario. They're tastefully bright with great harmonic overtones when in overdrive, sound good for a long time, stay in tune through big bends, and are a good deal, especially in the 10 pack. I string almost all my guitars with them now and always appreciate the tone.
Best Price on Strings
I have 15 guitars. Sweetwater has the BEST price on strings when you buy in bulk. Look at their 10 packs. Even if you have one guitar and the strings last you 5 years, you can't beat the price.
D'Addario Strings
I have used these strings for years now, and they are my "go to" brand. The quality control of these strings is very consistant, so when you get used to them you know exactly what sound and feel you are getting in each new pack.
Shop and personal use. Consistency and good price.
Use these all the time in the shop as well as personal use. As good as any nickel plated string out there. Multipack pricing makes these a great deal.

Definitely recommend
I don't think I'd ever put any other strings on my guitar.
1. They sound great!
2. They play smoothly.
3. They last.
Best Music store in the world

Awesome strings
I've played D'addario strings since about 7 years ago exclusively on my R0 Les Paul I'm always amazed at how long they last and how good they sound.
32 bucks.
Great price. Only use these strings
A staple for the working musician
There's really not a lot to say about these other than: they sound great - bright tone, and they last for a reasonable amount of time under heavy playing - they retain their tone and don't break under normal circumstances.
The reason for the review is to mention that most working musicians need strings that fit these criteria for tone and durability. Add in that, occasionally I have to change my strings about twice a week if I'm gigging or touring heavily, or if I have a recording session and want fresh strings. The point is, cost is important unless you're endorsed (I'm not).
I wait every year for the sale on D'Addario XLs. I buy a case (10 pack) of .09s and one of .10s every year when the sale happens.
Good strings
Good strings. Have used for years
D'Addario EXL110s
Great strings, been using them for years, buy them from Sweetwater!
Awesome customer service!
I really dig these guys, simply put their customer service is like nothin I've experienced before, seriously a stand alone attention to detail that is outta this world. While their gear is as good as anyone is pricing stuff their customer service sets them apart in my view. I always check with these guys first!

Luke is an excellent representative!!! He is knowledgeable, friendly and has genuine interest in providing the right products for my needs!
D'Addario Always Makes Great Strings
I have been using D'Addario strings for about 30 years. I have never been disappointed. I have used different D'Addario strings and they have all been good quality. The EXLs are my favorite though, for the money.
Best Electric Guitar Strings Out There
I started using D'Addarios after reading that they were the choice of my favorite guitarist, Robben Ford, as well as many other names. I've been using them for years and have never been disappointed. The tone is great, they stay in tune and they last longer than other brands I've tried. I use either the regular light 10 gauge D'Addarios or the 10 gauge with heavier bottom strings. Both are great.
Daddario EXL 110 electric guitar strings
Been using these strings for years because they have great tone and longevity. They are also brighter sounding than coated strings. Each string comes individually sealed in plastic so you can keep them on hand and never worry about humidity or other corrosive factors. After playing, I always wipe mine down with a thin layer of WD40 which helps sustain the bright tone for a longer time. The quality is always spot on, and they really make single coil pickups sound incredibly clean and glassy. They also stay in tune better than any other string I have ever used.
Sweetwater
Fast shipping, excellent staff very helpful and knowledgeable I highly recommend Sweetwater guitars
Strings
Great price on my favorite strings. I saved 80$ on a 10-pal. Delivery was 2 days early. Great vendor. Always buy Sweetwater
Sweet
Jeff is always a big help with everything. Delivery and service are excellent!
Like a red rubber ball!
I keep coming back! Tried Almost everything Out there.
Boutique brands, round core, coated Hand wound, and after a day of two I'm missing that old Daddario feel!
Sweetwater is great! Prompt Free shipping and competitive prices.
Great, and swift, as always.
Quick review. My experience with sweetwater is always pleasant and second to none. My rep is great, and I received my package 1 day ahead of original, estimated delivery date. Nobody with whom I've ever dealt has been better. Since i discovered sweetwater, I haven't bought a single guitar from anywhere else. (4 guitars and other stuff so far) Shout out to Bob!!
You need these.
What's to say? You want some good strings? You have a few dozen makers to choose from. Who knows what you will get without trying them all out. One thing is for sure, you will get a good pair of strings at a good price with D'Addario. I have tried a few different kinds of strings, but I always land back home with D'Addario. Your mileage may vary, but they suit me real nice from strumming to speed picking.
Favorite strings
Long lasting, consistent quality, sound great & feel great. Every time I try something else I always quickly return to these. When something works for me I stick with it & for my money these strings are the best for me! Thanx as always to Josh Kattner & Sweetwater for excellent customer service, great free shipping & quality products at competitive prices with flexible financing to boot!
Just great strings.
These stings sound great feel great and seem to last as long as the more expensive coated or long life stings in my opinion. No complaints here.
My standard string set
They sound great, they last a long time... What's not to like??
great strings
These strings rock they stay in tune and last just as long as brands that are 5x as much plus the 10 pk will get you through a lot of changes
These are my go to strings.
I love the value of the 10 pack. I switched to D'Addario years ago from GHS Boomers. I don't know what it is about them but they seem to last forever.
I also really like the color coded ends. It makes changing strings idiot proof...and my eye sight is not as sharp as it was when I was in my 20's so this is definitely a plus.
Last but not least...the service you get from Sweetwater is second to none. They are simply the best folks to work with.
Great Strings
While I have tried other strings over 42 years of playing, I always came back to these. D’Addario‘s can go toe to toe against any string out there for stability, durability, bendability (yes it’s a word) and they never try to gouge you on the price.
daddario xl
excellent strings
D'Addario EXL 110
I pretty much settled on these 10 years ago or more. There may be better ones out there but I have no inclination to look around because these stay in tune, sound and feel great and hold up under hard playing and bending. I have 5 electrics and these work great on all of them.
Used 'em For Years!
I have been using these for many years and for some reason, I just stick with what I know on this. I'm not afraid to try anything else, but there's no point in it for me.
4-Days Strings in Hand
Sweetwater is the best thing that has happened to musicians. The service is unbelievable and they go all out to help us love what we do (MUSIC). Matt Masek is a fantastic Sales Engineer and always follows up with me to make sure all is good. Even with an order as small as a 10 pack of strings and it was in my hands in 4 days. WOW.
D'Addario 10-46 Nickel Plated
My go-to electric strings for decades.
Great strings
Awesome strings glad they have them in the 10pk
The best strings
I have used lots and lots of strings in my time.D'Addario are the best I play country rock blues this string covers it all love them no better one out there.
Excellent
Been relying heavily on these for a few years now. Switched from Ernie Ball regular slinky to these simple because they sound and feel better to me and seem to last longer. I'm pretty hard on strings and these hold their tune and clarity very well. Use the 10-46 gauge on several guitars that I have setup in standard tuning. They get the job done! Never had an issue out of them. Highly recommend giving them a go!
Go To Strings
I"ve been using D"Addario EXL 110 on my electrics for over 20 years. Yes, I have tried other brands- twice. But, these are the ones I keep coming back to. And, as a gigging guitarist, I change strings about every two weeks. Buying a 10 pack is pretty economical.
Always solid
Great strings that seem to hold up better than any other string brand I've played. The 10 pack makes things super convenient and cost effective!
These Are The Strings
In my 50 years of playing guitar, I"ve tried the Martins, the Fenders, The Ernie Ball"s. On my electrics and acoustics, it"s D"Addario, and it"s the 10s. Been that way for at least 40 of those 50+ years. Like so many things relating to guitar, it"s a matter of choice. I hope anyone reading this finds what makes him or her happy. For me, in strings, it"s D"Addario. If you haven"t found your "Happy Strings" yet, give D"Addario a try.
These Are The Strings!
I've tried others. These are THE strings. And, a ten pack is a bargain for someone like me who changes strings every week or so.
The Best
I've been using D'Addario strings for almost 50 years now. Back in my touring days, I would buy their strings buy the CASE.....several at a time, because we'd change the strings almost every day. That said, I've haven't bought strings for some time....that is until I broke a couple stings and found I was basically out of strings, so I went to Sweetwater's site and started poking around.... I saw these, read the reviews and called up James Masterson, my music-pro-bro there, and bought a couple packs. They came very quickly and I changed the strings on a couple of my electrics and was VERY happy with the sound. The strings have a beautiful, all-around sound....the bass was sold and full but not too boomy. The middle strings were very lively and produced a clear, non-muddy sound. AND the top stings were crisp and alive. Hit a C-chord....and the guitar had an added presence that my old Start never really had. I highly recommend these strings. Great value and great sound. CONS: Ok, it is not a perfect world, but I still miss strings coming in individual packs.....but that is more a broody comment and not a reflection on Sweetwater or D'Addario. Thanks, again, for the great service and pricing!
Best buy and quality in guitar strings
I love these strings. I went to the 9-46 set on my Les Paul's and these have been my go to strings for ages.
Decent price, superior D'Addario quality, the tone is there and the lifetime surprised me, these puppies last and they keep great tone and pitch. I've considered the new NYXLs but really the cost is a lot more and not sure it I really want a brighter string to readjust all my gear. I buy these by the 10 pack, with the tones, price, and quality what else could you want? No better strings out there, you can pay more and get less. D'Addario is just the best string maker.
No Brainer = Sweetwater
All I ordered this time was a 10 pack of strings. D'Addario is, as always, consistent, dependable and my first choice for all of my electric guitars.
Sweetwater is Outstanding! I grew up in Indiana and left decades ago. Had Sweetwater existed at the time, I'd probably still be a Hoosier.
Not sure when I'll next visit old Indiana friends. I will visit my more recent friends at Sweetwater too. Thank You!
D'Addario EXL110's
still my favorites
D'Addario Strings
Not much to say really...I've been using D'Addario EXL110 Nickle Wound .10-.46 for years. My favorite strings hands down. Great sounding and super stable. Keep your guitar wiped down and they'll last. I use a dab of rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and it cleans the grime...the alcohol evaporates quickly and doesn't harm the finish on any of my guitars (Fenders...Gibsons...Reverends...Ibanez...Taylors).
D'Addario Strings
Great value. Bright and responsive strings.
Good strings
They're good strings. It was a good deal.
Great strings for a heavy picking hand
Back in my hardcore gigging days, I struggled to find a brand of strings that would hold up to how I played. A 45 minute set would normally result in a string break until I found these - still stand by them to this day, 10 years later, as the only string I will use. Great strings that stand up to the abuse!
Awesome Strings, Great Value
Bought a 10-pack at Gearfest. Great deal for some awesome strings!
Great Strings! Fast delivery
Always had success with D'Addario strings. I recommend them to everyone. As always, great customer service and fast shipping from the folks at Sweetwater! I appreciate you guys. Thanks
Gat strings
Some of the best I have used.
My New Strings
For years, I've been playing Ernie Ball and really loved them aside from the all-too-frequent breakage issues and the oxidation within days of use.
I've now been playing D'Addarios for about month at a handful of gigs and these strings ar great! All the tone you expect out of an Ernie Ball but without the breakage and oxidation -- and I bend strings quite heavily and sweat a good bit onstage. I was actually able to use one set of strings over two weeks and two gigs and they still have plenty of life in them and look in great shape.
d'addario strings
very pleased, thank you.
D'Addario EXL110 electric guitar strings
D'Addario strings have always been a favorite of mine and the cost of the 10-pak makes it super affordable. Not to mention the free shipping, how easy is that?
strings
always perfect!
My go to strings
I've been using D'Addario strings almost exclusively for over 20 years. I've tested others, including other D'Addario strings & some hand made balanced sets, but for the price and for how often I change strings the nickel wounds are a big part of my tone.
Great strings!
I have used D'Addario's for years. They are consistently great sounding strings!
Consistent strings
I recently switched from Ernie Ball strings because I kept getting sets with rust and pits on the unwound strings. The D"Addario are consistent. I also was happy with Elixrs but they were more expensive.
Can't miss!
10 sets at this price is a steal! Never been disappointed by these and personally have yet to get a BAD string. I have heard it happens, but not yet to me!
Excellent Strings
They have a bright twangy tone perfect for fender guitar players. These are not long-lasting strings, I change them every two weeks or whenever I'm gonna record or play live, that's why they work for me.
Great Strings
Love D'Adderio strings. Great tone, feel and durability.
I've played many strings in the last 35 years and these are definitely my favorite.
Awesome sound and reliability!
For the last 8 years I've been using these strings on all my guitars. I used to use Ernie Balls and always had issues with breaking strings but since a friend suggested I try D'Addarios I've never had an issue! They sound great and are dependable and to a gigging musician that means the world!
Great Strings
Can't beat these strings for the price I use them a lot in my shop and my customers love them
I'm impressed!
Just got another guitar in today and it had flat wound strings on it. I know that when I cant bend a D string on the 12th fret.......was up wit dat? So these unknown brand strings are coming off and a new set of D'Addarios are going on. I use them on all eight of my guitars and find it hard to even consider anything else. Ernie Ball Cobalt's have got to be really good to convince me. In the mean time......if it aint broke....!
Howie reviews the D'Addario EXL110 light electric guitar strings.
I've been playing guitar since the mid 70s and was introduced to D'Addario strings for electric guitar early on. I had a music store in upstate NY for a time and we always did well with D'Addario strings for the electric instruments. I've always had great success with them. They are consistently good, wear well, hold their ring even under the grueling conditions of sweaty live shows. I have never found a flaw that would cause me to have to replace them immediately, which gives me the confidence I need to keep using them. I've tried other strings, just to see if there is a reason for me to switch and, while there are plenty of good strings out there, there is no point in my switching now. With a thirty plus year track record of great success, why would I want to, right? Yep I'm very happy with these excellent strings. The icing on the cake: Sweetwater's Gearfest pricing. Again, thank you to my friends at Sweetwater for helping make my summer touring more pleasant. I always appreciate folks looking out for the working pros.
I've Played 'Em All...
I've played all the brands that have been available since the 1970s, even brands and models that aren't around any more. D'addario XL's are consistent, trustworthy performance. They sound great, play great and last long.
Pretty good strings
I have switched string companies rarely over the past fifty years. That"s right; fifty years. As many realize there are not that many string manufacturers. Most strings are made by a handful of companies and then someone else puts their name on them. D"Addario manufactures their strings and the quality is consistently good. I change strings often so buy ten packs several times per year. I have always liked the fact that they wrap the strings in plastic pouches which keep them sealed from the elements. There"s nothing worse than having strings go bad before you"ve even used them. They are not the best strings I have ever used, but they are good enough and priced reasonably enough for me to keep buying them for electric, acoustic, nylon string and bass guitars.
Great deal
Great strings and a great deal. I love dealing with Sweetwater, good products, good service and I have to admit I love eating the candy. Thank you!
Best non-coated strings for my sweaty hands
My hands sweat so much, I can kill a set of strings in 15mins. For some reason, D'addario strings hold up a little better than Ernie ball or other brands that I've tried. Always great to pick up your strings in large quantities and save some cash. I wish there as a twenty pack.
The Rock!
Great strings! Great deal!
The ONLY strings for me!
I've been using these strings exclusively for decades. I'm a working guitarist that owns and uses 4 different electric guitars: strat, tele, hollowbody with mini-buckers and a Jetstream with P90s. These strings sound good, feel good, have good tuning stability and great durability on all 4 axes. The 10 Pack is a great value!!
D'Addario EXL110 electric guitar strings
Great strings; been using them for years. They hold up very well in our humid environment in Florida.
Noticed a recent change in packaging where two strings are now wrapped together. I don't like this, preferring the old way of each string coiled individually. Not a big deal, but did force a change in how I like to change my strings...Most likely some type of cost saving effort at the factory.
Great Strings
Good strings, responsible packaging. And save those colorful ball ends to make some cool jewelry!
Great Strings
While these aren't the coolest strings out there that are made of God only knows what, these are certainly my ol' faithfuls. I rarely break a string, they last a good amount of time, and they sound great.
Bad package maybe
I bought these strings and they worked and sounded great when I first put them on my guitar. I played one 40 minute set, but about 20 minutes into the next set I tried playing I broke a string. It hasn't been more than 2 days before this one broke. And if they're like this all the time I would suggest buying a different brand.
