This time around I’m trying out the Meinl Turbo Slap-Top Cajon, a multitimbral percussion instrument with an impressive amount of expression. It has a walnut playing surface atop an eco-friendly, medium-density carbon fiber body. As you can see it’s designed to sit comfortably on your lap, with bottom-side cushioning that’s easy on your legs even during long playing sessions.
The Turbo Slap-Top Cajon has three main playing zones for bass, “high clean”, and snare sounds. It gives you a similar range of expression as playing with a kick, snare and hi-hat. The three ports on the front of the cajon really enhance the projection, making it easy for even gentle touches to be heard.
