When I start Pro Tools using my Avid HD OMNI, it stalls on “Initializing Audio.”
To fix this issue, try the following troubleshooting steps from Avid:
- Quit Pro Tools.
- Shut down your computer completely.
- Turn off the HD OMNI, leave it off or 5 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Reset the HD OMNI from the front panel via the following steps:
- Enter SETUP mode by pressing SETUP on the front panel.
- Turn the MONITOR encoder until the display shows RESET.
- Press the MONITOR encoder button to select RESET.
- Press the MONITOR encoder button again to confirm RESET.
- Turn off the HD OMNI, leave it off for 5 seconds, then turn it back on.
- Power on your computer.
- Trash Pro Tools preferences. If you’re not sure how, see this article.
- Launch Pro Tools. Your issue should be fixed.
