This year Craviotto began experimenting with woods outside its wheelhouse, including hickory, Ambrosia maple, and, as featured here, beech wood. This special beech kit comes to Sweetwater in a doubly-exclusive Flat Black lacquer finish with cherry wood inlays. Each shell in this Fab-sized four-piece is handcrafted from a single piece of steam-bent beechwood for incredible resonance. Beech’s inherent strength and rough grain texture give this kit its distinctive looks and round, cutting tone — similar to birch, but more robust in the low end. Craviotto’s 45° bearing edges minimize contact between the wood and heads for modern sustain.
