Lighter, Darker Hats from the K Series

The Zildjian K Light Hi-hats let you tap into the expressive K series sound, with a lighter, darker character than traditional hats. Originally developed by Kerope Zildjian in 19th-century Turkey, the deep, dry, and shimmering sound of K series cymbals has been a mainstay of jazz drumming, finding favor among such legendary drummers as Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, and Tony Williams. Thanks to its medium-thin top/medium bottom configuration, you can count on your K Light Hi-hat pair to deliver a solid "chick" sound, a dark tone, and a fast decay. Discover a whole new range of hi-hat sound — order your Zildjian K Light Hi-hats from Sweetwater today.

Cast bronze cymbals provide premium tone and projection

Made from a secret alloy (comprised of copper, tin, and traces of silver), this K Light Hi-hat pair was individually cast and shaped via a complex sequence of heating, rolling, shaping, hammering, and lathing. These painstaking techniques and traditional methods give each K Light Hi-hat pair its unique tone and broad range of expression. Cast bronze cymbals, such as these K Light Hi-hats, present you with a rich, full-bodied sound that only improves with age. They also provide exceptional projection, clarity, and durability that far outstrips most other cymbals.

Zildjian K Light Hi-hats Features:

  • A darker, lighter side of the K series
  • Medium-thin top, medium bottom
  • A great set of hi-hats for jazz and other contemporary musical styles
  • Hammered and lathed surface allows sound to ring out with full dynamic expression
  • Traditional finish looks stunning and patinas naturally
  • Perfect for players of all skill levels
  • Made using traditional techniques developed in the 19th century by Kerope Zildjian

Love them! Best I have owned. Like them better than the Sabian HHX Legacy hats in the same size. Brandon Buckley is a pro, and always very helpful.
Zildjian K HH
Great Sound! Great Price! K series are the best all around cymbals!
My favorite of many Hats
Super impressed with these. So let's get one thing out of the way right away-----cymbal and hi hat preferences are very contingent on what you are playing and what you like ---so it very subjective. But wow---these just have everything. I bought the 15's and they are my fave over the Sabian evolutions, K custom special dry (second favorite), Byzance benny greb sand hats, 14 inch custom dry fx (love these but limited ability to use). The are dark but not too dark, perfect sustain, great great great semi-open sound and sizzle. good stick definition. Just very very versatile. I would recommend these to anyone. Not sure why they call them "Light Hats"---the moniker doesn't fit their utility. A really perfect deeper tone. But I love them If you are on the fence....buy them.
Great Hi-Hats!
Very deep and complex sounding, but with a very fat "chik" sound. Big thanks to Sean Carolan for hooking me up!
Best hats ever!
Great hats! Nice deeper wash with crisp shoulder and stick definition. These cut nicely without being too overpowering and loud. Very pleased.

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or Planet Z pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
