My K Custom Organic Ride
I got to play one of these in my community college big band, and I REALLY liked it. It never occurred to me that I could buy myself one. Fast forward a year or so, and I'm playing in a prog jazz band, and the leader provides me with a bunch of recordings for reference, and there is a cymbal that figures prominently in his music. It sounds just like that "K" up at the college! I searched far and wide for a cymbal that sounded like those recordings, and I checked everywhere and everyone- and finally decided that this "K" was the one. I am NOT disappointed. It is perfect. I LOVE the sound of this cymbal, kinda dark, a little trashy, kinda dry. I don't know why it is characterized as "loud"... it isn't particularly loud, and the volume and wash are very easily modulated. Mine made its debut at a rock club gig last weekend, and it was perfect. Very easy to control. Good articulation. Not too much wash. A very pleasant trashiness. Just the right amount of brightness peeking through the darkness. Very balanced. I recommend it 100%.

Very Versatile
Got exactly what I was looking for with this cymbal. I've used it in jazz, gospel, and rock settings and it fits perfectly with my other cymbals (14in K Hi-hats, 18in Bosphorus antique medium crash, and K Constantinople Crash/Ride). The bell size and timbre are my favorite since I do a lot of bell patterns. It also just has a great distinct look to it.
Great, Old-School Ride Sound
I was looking for a ride for lower-volume, small-group jazz and blues. This one stood out from several that I tried in your store. I've found it blends well with other cymbals in my kit for this application, and proves to do to just exactly what I wanted it to do! It's on the dry side, so doesn't have wash that carries out very far. In spite of it's size I'd say it's not real loud or aggressive. Just nice and smooth in the mix. Wonderful!

The Zildjian 21 inch K Custom Organic Ride is perfect for my ears
First thing: Jed Elliot is the man. Jed has been advising me since 2016 and he has never let me down. The Zildjian 21 inch K Custom Organic Ride is not too harsh, has just the right amount of ping and suits my Blues music style perfectly (again, to my ears). And, it looks great. Thanks to Jed and Sweetwater.
great ride
I had previously purchased a boxed set of zildjian. A cymbols which I was pleased with except the sweet ride has to much sustain for my taste when playing as a constant ride. This cymbol has the sound I was looking for. I gave it a 4.5 due to the price not the performance

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?
Jason Thiele
I've owned several prototypes of the Zildjian K Custom Organic Ride cymbal and have seen it being developed from its infancy to perfection over the last several years. It is truly an amazingly versitile cymbal combining clear definition, crashablity, and a crisp and pronounced bell. The K Custom Organic is truly a workhorse that would fit into any style of play. Playing as much as I do, I can always count on this as my go-to ride!

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or Planet Z pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
