Killer electronics for super-punchy bass sound

From the very first time you plug in your Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4 H, you'll appreciate the phenomenal low-end punch its lone soapbar-style humbucking pickup delivers. Granted, the extra-stout pole pieces and wide windings provided by this alnico pickup contribute a solid basis for your tone, but its the StingRay 4 H's active preamp and 3-band EQ really that let you sculpt your sound. As a result, everyone from shoegazer-era rockers to funk masters have enjoyed the extreme punch this amazing instrument has to offer.

Extra-beefy yet totally playable neck feels amazing

There's simply no substitute for a great neck. Ernie Ball Music Man put a ton of work into developing a neck that would provide you with the perfect balance of comfort, speed, and stability. The StingRay 4 H's 1-5/8" nut gives you plenty of room to play and the 11" radius fingerboard gives you excellent string-to-string separation. Finished with gunstock oil and a hand-rubbed special wax blend, the back of the StingRay 4 H's neck feels amazing and lets you hand glide along effortlessly. And with its 6-bolt attachment, this bolt-on neck delivers stability that easily surpasses most set necks.

Loaded with StingRay style, sound, and innovation

The StingRay 4 H, like the rest of Ernie Ball Music Man's StingRay bass lineup, claims roots that run back to 1971, when Ernie Ball Music Man was founded. Armed with a fat and punchy humbucker, active electronics, and a delightfully chunky neck it's no wonder the StingRay became a standard for such bass players as Guy Pratt, Cliff Williams, and Flea.

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4 H Bass Features:
  • A performance-built bass any serious player can appreciate
  • Beefy humbucker with active 3-band EQ gives you fat and punchy tone
  • Ash body coupled with a chunky maple neck delivers amazing comfort and sustain
  • Outfitted with Schaller tuners and a hardened steel bridge for maximum stability

If you have the right amp, there is nothing that this bass can't do. It is super versatile in terms of different tones and sounds. Cliff Williams from AC/DC uses it as a super punchy low end that shook my entire seat when I say them live, while Johnny Christ from Avenged Sevenfold uses it as a growling motorcycle that literally sounds percussive and blends together with the snare and high hats, not just the kick drum. The fact that this bass can make completely different sounds and do all of them extremely well is amazing. Pair this baby up with a GK stack and you'll never buy another bass or amp again.
