PRS has announced that they are bringing back the classic CE 24 bolt-n neck guitar. Originally introduced in 1988, the CE 24 offers all of the PRS design benefits and quality with the addition of the snap and sparkle of a traditional bolt-on neck-style guitar. The new CE 24 will feature a mahogany body with a maple top, a bolt-on maple neck with a Pattern Thin carve and a rosewood fingerboard, a satin nitro finish. A master volume and push/pull master tone control combined with a 3-way pickup selector switch and PRS 85/15 pickups provide six classic tones.
According to Paul Reed Smith, “After 30 years of guitar making, we’ve learned a lot, and we have used all that knowledge to update our original CE bolt-on model. Most notably we updated its sound by adding our new 85/15 pickups, which have more musical high end than the original ‘HFS’ pickups, and we also made it slimmer so it is very comfortable to play.”
