Issues with chaining Apollos
With the recent UAD 7.1 and Apollo firmware updates, it is critical that you power up your Apollos in the proper sequence if you are chaining them together. Please follow these steps for the proper power up sequence:
- Make sure all speakers are turned off and power off the host computer system.
- Power off all connected Firewire devices.
- Make sure everything is connected the way it should be.
- Power on all Firewire devices EXCEPT the Apollo.
- Power on the Apollo monitor unit.
- Power on the Apollo expander unit.
- Power on your computer.
***NOTE: if chaining via Thunderbolt, power up the expander unit BEFORE the monitor unit.***
***It is also important to note that the UAD v7.1 includes the firmware update for the Apollo. Be sure to click “OK” when prompted to update the firmware, then power off and power on the Apollo to complete the firmware update process.
