I’m getting DAE error 9007 or 9031 when trying to play in Pro Tools 10.

We have seen this happen on Pro Tools 10 systems where both an RTAS and an AAX (32-bit) version of a plug-in exist at the same time. In the cases we’ve seen, it has been Slate Digital or Toontrack plug-ins.

If you have plug-ins from either of these manufacturers, we suggest removing the RTAS versions and sticking to the AAX version (it will be more efficient in Pro Tools), though you can keep whichever one you like. See below for plug-in folder paths.

If you don’t have plug-ins from either of these manufacturers, try removing either the RTAS or AAX versions of any of your other plug-ins to see if the problem goes away. If you’re still experiencing these issues after removing the plug-ins, don’t hesitate to contact our Tech Support.

The plug-ins folder on Windows is located at:

  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins (AAX)
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins (TDM & RTAS)

The plug-ins folder on Mac is located at:

  • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins (AAX)
  • Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/Plug-Ins (TDM & RTAS)
