I am having trouble updating my MIDAS I/O box.
If an I/O box was last upgraded while connected to a PRO3-6-9 or XL8, when connected to PRO1 or PRO2/2C by the normal AES50 connections the upgrader mechanism will not detect the I/O Box.
Likewise if an I/O box was last upgraded from a PRO1 or PRO2/2C, when connecting to a PRO3-6-9 or XL8 by the normal AES50 connections the upgrader mechanism will not detect the I/O Box.
MIDAS is currently working on this issue, but the I/O boxes can be upgraded using the following update method.
- Disconnect the AES50 cables from the I/O box
- Connect the Ethernet control port on the rear of the I/O unit to the Ethernet control port on the rear of the console.
- Switch the console and the I/O box on.
- Run the upgrader mechanism on the console in the normal way and the I/O box will now be detected.
- Select the I/O box for update and click on update.
- Once the upgrade has been completed and the I/O box as gone green quit from the updater and then power cycled the I/O box and the console.
- Disconnect the Ethernet control connection and connect the AES50 ports as normal.
