I keep hearing about the Play software from EastWest. What exactly is Play?

The Play software from EastWest is a sample player, much like Native Instrument’s Kontakt, that is specifically designed for some of EastWest’s sample libraries (ie, Goliath, StormDrum, Ministry of Rock, FabFour, etc…). Play allows you to load the instruments and samples from these libraries and use your MIDI controller or sequencer software to play the sounds and instruments. There are two major components to EastWest’s Play collections: the Library (samples/instruments), and the Play software. EastWest has updates available for both Play and for the Libraries of their Play collections. You must download and install these separately in order to fully update your Play collection. Updates are available from EastWest’s update page (http://www.soundsonline.com/updates.php).
