Choosing your output device in CD Architect.

CD Architect does not support ASIO drivers. Therefore, whatever device you are using for playback needs to have a WDM or MME driver component to it. Most pro audio interfaces do. Digidesign hardware may require the use of the MMe Helper application. More information can be found here: https://www.sweetwater.com/sweetcare/ts/results.php?Keyword=mme+helper&-find=Go%2

Once your drivers are installed, go to Options > Preferences > Preview in CD Architect. Under “Audio device Type,” you can choose between “Windows Classic Wave Driver” and “Microsoft Sound Mapper.” If you choose “Microsoft Sound mapper,” then your output device will be whatever device you have listed for audio playback in the Sounds and Audio devices Control Panel. The option for “Default audio playback device” will be grayed out in CD Architect. If you choose “Windows Classic Wave Driver,” then you will be able to select a driver under “Default audio playback device.”

If the drivers for your hardware do not show up in the Sounds and Audio devices Control Panel or the “Default audio playback device” box, then you may need to update them to the latest version, making sure that there is a WDM or MME driver avaliable.
