“Whenever I try to use my Waves plug-ins on my dual processor Mac with Digital Performer it crashes. Everything else works fine. What am I missing?”
The current version of Waves plug-ins (V3.2) doesn’t support dual processing with Digital Performer 3.0. For the time being, your best bet is to disable the “Use Multiple Processors” option in Digital Performer. The 3.5 version of Waves’ plug-ins, which is due out in the next three to five weeks, will solve this problem. It will be a free upgrade for registered users of the 3.2 version.
If, for some reason, you really need access to both processors while in Digital Performer, a good workaround is to print the tracks in question (the tracks with Waves plug-ins instantiated) to disk. Obviously this is a few extra steps, but it will actually free up a lot of processor resources for other things in your session.
