An amplifier optimized for reproducing and amplifying electric guitar signals. There are two primary types of guitar amps: heads and combos. Typical features of guitar amplifiers include:
- full-range drivers, such as one or more 12″ or 10″ speakers
- a preamp section (tube or solid state) with one or more EQ bands and gain control
- a power amp section (tube or solid state)
- built-in reverb (spring or digital)
Optionally, a guitar amplifier may feature one or more effects loops, two or more selectable channels allowing for independent tones, onboard effects, and more.
