Universal Audio has released the EP-34 Tape Echo Powered Plug-in for the company’s UAD-2 DSP cards. The new plug-in emulates the sound, capabilities, and response of both the original EP-3 and the EP-4 Echoplex tape echos. The DSP experts at Universal Audio labored over every detail of the emulations, ensuring that the EP-34 plug-in is verifiably the most accurate model for those who want the distinct, chaotic Echoplex sound, “warts and all.” The EP-34 is available as part of the new version 5.7 software release, which also includes the licensed dbx 160 compressor and performance enhancements for both the Mac and Windows platforms.
