This audio interface includes four analog mic preamplifiers that sound startlingly similar to Universal Audio’s classic 610 tube pre. The Vintage Preamp Mode employs expertly designed op-amps and solid-state electronics to deliver tubelike dynamic saturation and clipping, arming you with powerful, intuitive tone shaping for your microphones and line-level signals. Best of all, Vintage Preamp Mode is selectable, which enables you to use the Volt 476P with external preamps and channel strips with zero added coloration.

a welcome upgrade from the 276
The 276 served me wonderfully but, there were times I needed 2 mics for the acoustic plus one for voice or even adding an instrument input for a total of 4! That is where the 476P shines for me. I purchased from Adam Hunter a certified / previously owned, demo product. It is perfect.

Great Interface
I had the Apollo but ran into workflow issues using unison. Wanted something simple with good clear sound mainly for vocals and this more than does it. I am extremely pleased with this fine piece of equipment. The vintage and compressor buttons sound great and are fun to use. The UA plug ins they come with this are extremely useful and have taken my recording to the next level. It's the best looking interface on the market, it looks vintage. It's a plug and play no nonsense interface great for a singer songwriter.

I love my UA Volt476P interface almost enough to sleep with it underneath my pillow at night... even though I haven't actually heard it in action yet. The UA Volt476 was my go-to studio interface, because of its sound using the vintage tube coloring and onboard compression for vocals and guitar. In my world everything I can do to 'condition' my vocal and guitar inputs to Ableton Live 11 Lite, means I can use those CPU resources for other purposes, such as pitch correction, equalization, doubling, side chain compression and effects. With a 2.9GHz laptop 16G RAM Intel I7 processor, Ableton still tends to freak out about CPU overload, so the jury is out as to what four inputs will do, but I will use the second vocal and guitar ins for TC Guitar Acoustic harmony/backup (vocal) and effects (guitar) to give me stomp box pedal options into my DAW sound. The TC box has selectable guitar effects associated with voice presets and it can filter out the lead vocal, leaving only backup and harmony (based on the guitar input key). Using Nembrini's doubler I can split and place the extra inputs, starting at a split frequency and field spatial position I choose, to really 'mix' things up... and if the CPU doesn't like it, I'll ren a second licensed copy of Ableton on my 1.9GHz laptop for MIDI tracks and parallel them into my Mackie Mix8.

Almost perfect
I ain't no audiophile, so this thing sounds good to me. It replaces an ancient firewire Focusrite Sapphire. I like the ability to loopback my guitar pedals via the in and outs. The only thing on my wishlist would be 0-10 numbers on the knobs. The free plugins are great and I encountered no problems downloading the drivers and setting up on Windows 11.

Traded down from Apollo Twin X

For years my Apollo has been driving me crazy. If i barely move it, the thunderbolt port disconnects, if i want to mix anything on the road, or in my house, forget about it Those plugins are LOCKED up til you power on. Console has become my OverLord. Seemed counterintuitive but this much cheaper, less complicated box is better for me and workflow i have. Using console is kinda like using an apple product - the longer you have it, the more you feel like you can't live without it. Turns out, simplification and just getting nice channel strips in the DAW is better for me. I wanted more inputs, but didn't want another apollo. This is great. My only critique would be the knobs feel cheap AF and it would be rad for future versions to have a knob for the 76 compressor on the box instead of button toggles with only 3 choices. I love this though. I've got MIDI finally on my interface again, yay. For 4 inputs this box is extremely compelling. The rack version looks sick too.
