PreSonus has announced a firmware update for the StudioLive AI-series mixers that adds support for streaming 96kHz audio to and from computer via Firewire 800. This update does not affect the number of recording and playback streams to/from the computer, nor does it affect bus mixing, Fat Channel processing, or the reverb or delay processors. The included Studio One Artist and Capture software packages are already high-definition ready, so no update is required for those applications.
PreSonus’s Nimbit online direct-to-fan music marketing service now also supports 24-bit/96kHz audio.
