Outstanding for the price
The relation price sound is just perfect!!!! Highly recommend them!!!!
Boom for your Buck $$$
Got these for my basement studio. For the money, it's going to be hard to beat them. The tom mics are easy to adjust and pick up the drums tone pretty good. The Bass mic does it job inside or at the opening. I play a 24" kick and my last mic was just to boomy with a ton of mud .
The overheads are pretty good as well, probably my favorite mics in the set. They pick my cymbols up just fine.
I run a 57 on my snare so I can't give a review on it.
You do need to play around with the mic height to the drum head and inside kick or outside etc. it does make a difference.
I have ran these mics on 2 different types of preamps, the better your preamps are the better these will sound. That's with any mic though. Just something to keep in mind.
For the price of this set and the sound you get from them,"apples to apples", I just don't think you can beat them. They out perform the price paid. So yea I'm pretty happy with them and I would buy again. No problems or complaints to write about.
Great microphones
I have used other mics in my studio that I paid more money for that are not even close in quality. I use all sm 57s for live shows and I think I am going to try these our next show and see how they do!
love these Mic's
excellent mic's we are loving the sound
No Laffy Taffy???
I might have to buy my gear elsewhere if y'all don't give up the Laffy Taffy. Just kidding, Sweetwater is the best!!
I've only just hooked these up and they are pretty impressive. I was extremely pleased with the overhead condenser mics.. they were very clear and responsive. These seem to allow minimal bleed over between mics. They also seem to be a nice sturdy microphone.
Perfect for our church
We were looking for an affordable drum mic kit for our acoustic drums. I took a chance to try the Presonus and WOW we were really impressed so far. We are mic'ing a 5 piece set of Ludwig's and this was exactly what we needed. On most channels we are not having to apply hardly any EQ. Really nice flight case they come in too. Thanks to my Sales Engineer for the great recommendation!
Huge bang for the buck
I did an A/B against my Audix D Series and Shure Beta 52 and these Presonus mics basically sounded almost identical. I use these in my home studio and also for live gigs. Really love the fact that they come with clips and also are stand mountable.
love these mic's
great deal and great sound ......love these mic's
we can hear the drums so much better now .
Glad I Got Them
I'm just a guy who wanted to record his own songs and have something "tangible". I had various mics and the sound was okay enough. When I got these, the sound improved 100%. The overhead condenser mics really brought crispness to the cymbals and overall punch. I'm very happy with this purchase.
A Little Chintzy
Mics sound pretty good but the nuts & bolts fall apart too easily. Also, the carrying case is ridiculous, as you have to totally disassemble the mics from the clips to put them away.
