Owners of SampleTank products are fortunate, because the original software was so stable that regular updates weren’t a necessity. Now, IK Multimedia has announced that SampleTank 2.1, a free upgrade for owners of SampleTank 2 L and XL software is available, and rather than lots of bug fixes, the update adds cool new features and enhancements:
- An enhanced STRETCH engine with separate algorithms for multi-sampled and phrase-based sounds, along with additional timbre controls.
- An improved Pitch-Shift/Time-Stretch function includes “grain control” for extended compatibility with a wider range of instrument sounds.
- SampleTank can now operate as a stand-alone application (no need to launch another application just so you can play music).
- Allows for the creation of complex 16-part splits / layers with new Range controls.
- Adds syncable LFOs and 16 assignable stereo outputs.
- Includes an expanded 6.5GB sound library in every instrumental category plus over 2GB of brand new samples
