The Utmost in iRig Versatility

A versatile addition to the esteemed iRig family, the iRig USB-C guitar interface demonstrates all the capabilities of its predecessors through a highly adaptable USB-C interface. A 1/4-inch amp output jack integrates the iRig USB seamlessly into your live rig. An FX/thru switch toggles between two operation modes. The FX setting processes and feeds your signal to your amp without the need for an adapter. The thru mode sends an unprocessed signal, so you can use your mobile device as a tuner or recorder. Put all your amplifiers and stompboxes in the palm of your hand with the IK Multimedia iRig USB guitar interface.

Stunning digital audio quality

The iRig USB is equipped with a premium 24-bit A/D converter for a crystal clear signal that's free from noise and crosstalk. Along with the 48kHz sampling rate, you can have ample output clarity without the studio. The iRig USB is compatible with all of your iOS devices and also works with line-level signals from synthesizers, keyboards, and mixers.

Portability makes jamming anywhere easy

Sweetwater musicians know that inspiration doesn't always strike at the most convenient time. However, with the iRig USB, grasping your on-the-go visualizations is a cinch. Because the iRig USB is so portable, you can have a massive arsenal of amps and stompboxes wherever you are. And it's perfect for those late nights when cranking your amp up to 10 isn't an option. Rocking out has never been easier than with the iRig USB's light weight and portability. The iRig USB makes it easy for you to grab ahold of inspiration wherever and whenever it hits.

Powerful features for live performance

iRig USB is tailor-made for the stage. Integrate the iRig USB seamlessly into your live rig via its 1/4-inch amp output jack. An FX/thru switch toggles between two useful operation modes. Process and feed your signal to your amp — without an adapter — using the iRig USB's FX mode. Use your mobile device as a tuner or recorder with the iRig USB's thru setting, which outputs a clean, unprocessed signal.

Reviews

Android use review
There isn't much info on using these with android so I figured it was worth coming back to document my experience for future potential buyers. I used this successfully with a samsung s9 ultra tab and a samsung s24 ultra phone with good results (running android 14 early 2025). The s9 ultra tab just barely had enough juice for acceptable latency and required some in software latency tricks to make the cut. The s24 ultra was low latency off the plug and play, no tweaking. I suspect anyone chasing the android route would need at least a snapdragon 8 gen2 processor (or equivalent) at a minimum. Snapdragon 8 gen 3 processor(or equivalent) as a minimum is likely a safer recommendation, especially for anyone that just wants plug and play functionality without issues.
IRig is great!
This iRig is great! It's easy to use, just plug in! That easy! Now the apps and software you'll need for this… that's a whole new game there! They won't be getting such nice reviews!

I’m pleased
It does what I'd expect and delivers for the price point. It's easy to use and recordings are clear. You will not be making high quality recordings, though. Recordings will be pretty quiet, but certainly audible. Set up is super easy, there isn't any; Plug in and go.

For reference, I use this to evaluate my playing by listening to playback on the recordings. I play finger style on an electric acoustic. I use either GarageBand or BandLab on an iPhone.

I'm happy.
Perfect for what I need
As a rank beginner I wanted to be able to play my bass guitar along with tutorial videos on the Internet. Also, I needed to do this entirely through headphones when necessary. The iRig USB does it perfectly.

The free included Amplitube software can route the guitar music to the iRig headphone jack, the PC speakers, or even my USB-connected hearing aids. Separately, Windows can route the audio output from videos, mp3 files, or Spotify to any of those same places where they will blend with the guitar.

The free version of Amplitube has a metronome, a tuner, and provides a variety of room ambiance, distortion pedal, and amplifier emulators; and it can also record your music. The paid version adds a whole lot more.

A couple of notes: The iRig is powered by your computer USB port and will not work unless plugged in. Furthermore, it will not work unless Amplitube or equivalent software is running. I just leave it plugged in all the time and load Amplitube when I want to play. The manual and sales literature make no mention of the fact that you must download and install the free low-latency ASIO driver. Even if it did work without the driver (mine didn't), the delay between what you play and what you hear would be noticeable.

Impressed!
I have used a lot of interfaces and amp sims over the last decade. But this inexpensive interface and included amp sims has completely surprised and delighted me. I highly recommend it for GarageBand :-)
