When I installed Pro Tools 12, Pro Tools 11 disappeared!
If Pro Tools 11 exists on your system when you install Pro Tools 12, it will overwrite it. This should not cause alarm. You will lose nothing over having Pro Tools 12 instead of 11, but rather you gain all of the new features of Pro Tools 12 (some of which have not even been released yet!).
You can, however, still have Pro Tools 10 (if your system is qualified) installed at the same time as Pro Tools 12. The only reason you would need to do this is if you still need to use RTAS plug-ins. Otherwise, there is no advantage to having the previous version of Pro Tools installed.
