This is a great idea. “I came up with an idea to help preserve the threads on my microphone stands. I was concerned about potential damage to the threads (careful as I am) when moving the stands to different locations, in and out of the trunk of the car etc.Solution: a 3/4 inch diameter rubber crutch tip. Slide the crutch tip over the threaded retaining washer on the end of your mic stand. It’s a nice snug fit so the crutch tip won’t fall off and get lost. The tip protects the delicate threads from bumps and potential damage. I have one for each stand and carry spares.”
