Roland CUBE-40XL Using the Foot Switch Jacks
For most CUBE amp products that have a foot switch input jack, up to two BOSS footswitches can be connected to each jack.
When connecting two footswitches to one jack, you must use a specific type of cable called an “insert cable.” One end of this cable has a single TRS connector (stereo plug), and the other end has two TS connectors (mono plugs).
1. Connect the TRS end into the foot switch input jack.
2. Connect each TS end into a BOSS FS-5U footswitch.
Alternatively, you could connect a BOSS FS-6 to the foot switch jack with a single cable that has TRS (stereo) connectors on each end.
1. Connect one end of the TRS cable into the foot switch input jack.
2. Plug the other end of the TRS cable into the FS-6 A&B (center) jack.
The FS-5L latching foot switch is not compatible for most products unless otherwise stated in the Owner’s Manual.
