My Avid Artist Series Controller is not automatically connecting to EuControl on my Mac.
If your Artist controllers aren’t automatically connecting to EuControl, try the following troubleshoots:
Delete EUCON preferences:
- Go to ~/Library/Preferences.
- Delete the following files:
- com.euphonix.eucon.plist
- com.euphonix.eucon.plist.lockfile (Lion only)
- com.Euphonix.EuControl.plist
- com.Euphonix.EuControl.plist.lockfile (Lion only)
- Euphonix (this will be a folder)
- Go to /Library/Preferences.
- Delete the following files:
- com.euphonix.EuConSystem.plist
- com.euphonix.EuConSystem.plist.lockfile (Lion only)
- com.euphonix.install.EuControl.plist
- Empty the trash.
- If you are on Lion, you will need to do a Secure Empty Trash from the Finder menu.
- Quit and relaunch EuControl.
If you are using AirPort/Wi-Fi for wireless internet:
- Open System Preferences and click Network.
- Click on the Settings icon that looks like a pinwheel.
- Choose Set Service Order…
- Drag AirPort/Wi-Fi to the top of the list.
- Click OK and then Apply.
- Restart the computer.
Create a new user account:
- Open System Preferences.
- Click on the ‘Users & Groups’ preference.
- Click the Lock to authenticate and enter your password.
- Click the ‘+’ under the list of users.
- Set the ‘New Account’ type to ‘Administrator’.
- Give this new user any name and password that you want.
- Click ‘Create Account’.
Then login to this new account and run Pro Tools.
- Go to the Apple menu and choose ‘Log Out (Username)’.
- Wait for the login screen and then login in as the new user.
- Launch Pro Tools.
Reset PRAM:
- Restart your computer.
- Once the screen goes black, hold down the following keys:
- Control + Option + P + R
- Continue to hold the keys until you hear the startup chime for the second time, then release the keys.
Fix Lion Preferences (Lion only):
- Go to /Library.
- Right-click on Preferences and choose Get Info.
- Click the lock on the bottom-right corner.
- Enter your user password.
- Change the permissions for Everyone from Read to Read & Write.
- Restart the computer.
