My Avid Artist Series Controller is not automatically connecting to EuControl on my Mac.

If your Artist controllers aren’t automatically connecting to EuControl, try the following troubleshoots:

Delete EUCON preferences:

1. Go to ~/Library/Preferences.
2. Delete the following files:
   • com.euphonix.eucon.plist
   • com.euphonix.eucon.plist.lockfile (Lion only)
   • com.Euphonix.EuControl.plist
   • com.Euphonix.EuControl.plist.lockfile (Lion only)
   • Euphonix (this will be a folder)
3. Go to /Library/Preferences.
4. Delete the following files:
   • com.euphonix.EuConSystem.plist
   • com.euphonix.EuConSystem.plist.lockfile (Lion only)
   • com.euphonix.install.EuControl.plist
5. Empty the trash.
   • If you are on Lion, you will need to do a Secure Empty Trash from the Finder menu.
6. Quit and relaunch EuControl.

 If you are using AirPort/Wi-Fi for wireless internet:

1. Open System Preferences and click Network.
2. Click on the Settings icon that looks like a pinwheel.
3. Choose Set Service Order…
4. Drag AirPort/Wi-Fi to the top of the list.
5. Click OK and then Apply.
6. Restart the computer.

Create a new user account:

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Click on the ‘Users & Groups’ preference.
3. Click the Lock to authenticate and enter your password.
4. Click the ‘+’ under the list of users.
5. Set the ‘New Account’ type to ‘Administrator’.
6. Give this new user any name and password that you want.
7. Click ‘Create Account’.

Then login to this new account and run Pro Tools.

1. Go to the Apple menu and choose ‘Log Out (Username)’.
2. Wait for the login screen and then login in as the new user.
3. Launch Pro Tools.

Reset PRAM:

1. Restart your computer.
2. Once the screen goes black, hold down the following keys:
   • Control + Option + P + R
3. Continue to hold the keys until you hear the startup chime for the second time, then release the keys.

Fix Lion Preferences (Lion only):

1. Go to /Library.
2. Right-click on Preferences and choose Get Info.
3. Click the lock on the bottom-right corner.
4. Enter your user password.
5. Change the permissions for Everyone from Read to Read & Write.
6. Restart the computer.
