I can’t get audio files to play in preview or QuickTime on my Mac computer with an Avid audio interface.
If you have Pro Tools 11.1.2 installed on your Mac running Mac OS X 10.8 and you can’t get audio files to preview or play in QuickTime, this is because of a bug with Avid’s CoreAudio Manager. Per the release notes for Pro Tools 11.1.2, the QuickTime player is currently not compatible with Avid audio interfaces on Mac OS X 10.8.
Until this is remedied, use an alternate audio interface or the built-in audio to play back audio files outside of your DAW or iTunes.
