How to Install Superior Drummer 3 Libraries from an External Hard Drive
In this guide, we will show you how to install your Superior Drummer 3 libraries from an external hard drive. The hard drive only contains the sound sample libraries, so you’ll need to download and install the core software, presets, and MIDI libraries using Toontrack Product Manager. Download and install the plug-in
After installing the Toontrack Product Manager and registering your serial number, you’ll need to download and install the plug-in, MIDI libraries, and kit presets. Since the sound libraries are already on the external hard drive, there’s no need to download them from the SDX Expansions section within Product Manager.
- Locate Superior Drummer 3 in the Product Manager and click Download.
- Once the download is complete, install, authorize and then finally update the software.
Link the sound libraries
The final step is to link the sound libraries from the external hard drive to Superior Drummer 3. Whenever linking or using the libraries, be sure to connect the hard drive before launching the application.
- Launch the Superior Drummer 3 standalone application.
- Navigate to the Settings menu, then click Libraries.
- Select Browse for Library Path(s), and then select the external hard drive which the sound libraries are located on.
Update the sound libraries
There are periodic sound library updates to perform. If an update is needed, connect the hard drive, and then launch the Toontrack Product Manager. Select Not Up-to-Date on the left side of the window, then download and install the available updates.
