How to Connect a MIDI Keyboard to Bitwig Studio
MIDI Keyboard Configuration
If you’re using a MIDI device, Bitwig Studio needs to recognize that it’s connected to your computer. Some devices require special drivers to be installed, others will not so be sure to check the manual for your MIDI device and follow those instructions before proceeding. Once your MIDI device is set up, it will be selectable within Bitwig, and you can start recording MIDI data.

Bitwig’s MIDI Settings menu is where MIDI connections are managed. From here, you can activate or deactivate the MIDI ports or channels of your hardware. Follow the steps below to enable each of your MIDI devices.
1. Open the Settings menu and select Controllers.
2. Click the Add drop-down menu, select your controller, then close the Settings menu. If your device isn’t listed, select Generic MIDI Keyboard.
