Error -34, -36, -194, or -199 during installation of Pro Tools software while Pro Tools is expanding.
After a successful installation and authorization, the SW stops at the end of its software expansion and can post these errors. This may be due to drive corruption, or a drive failure. One symptom would be the drive mounts with its regular icon, NOT with Digi’s note-on-a-cube-on-a-drive icon. Incidentally, the DSI does not report an error, and you can access the drive and copy files yet the error persists when attempting to expand the application when launched.- Run hard drive diagnostics- Reformat drive- Boot from, and install to, another drive.- Verify that all drivers are current on the external drive. – Run FWB Hard Disk ToolKit and attempt to partition drive which will prompt you to update drivers if necessary.- Verify DAE is not corrupt or re-install it.Clues for a corrupted DAE: 1. “Get info” command on DAE freezes computer and requires a force quit. 2. The usual DAE icon picture looks different (with this customer, it was a note pad with a pencil through it.)
