In Cubase 4, when trying to open the VST Audio System window, I get a message that the “device failed to open.”
Currently, the only solution is to uninstall and reinstall Cubase.
To uninstall on a Windows computer, use Add/Remove Programs to uninstall.
To uninstall on a Mac go to Macintosh HD/Applications and drag the Cubase icon to the trash.
Then go to Macintosh HD/Users/[home]/Library/Preferences and drag the Cubase 4 folder to the trash.
