Burning Successful CD-R Discs
Some suggestions for successfully burning CD-R discs:
– For audioCD’s, burn as slow as possible, preferrably 1x
– Always optimize (defragment) your hard drive before writing to CD from it. This will help minimize buffer under-runs.
– If you are making Data CD-ROMs (as opposed to CD-Audio discs) run a virus scan before permanently committing the data to CD.
– Remove any extra utilities, extensions, etc. from your computer before burning the disc. We recommend having a clean, stripped down version of your system software to run from when creating CDs.
– Don’t completely fill the disc. Although it might hold 650mb, we normally leave at least 30-50 megs free; discs can get a bit flaky when completely filled…
– If possible, burn from disc images, rather than from the raw data files.
