When I try to burn a disc in CD Architect, it tells me there are no PQ Codes defined. What does this mean and how do I fix this?

PQ Codes are a technical way of referring to ‘track marks’ in CDs. These are the codes which are written to the disc’s Table of Contents (TOC) so the CD player knows where to skip to when you change tracks.

If CD Architect says there are no PQ Codes defined, what this means is that there are no tracks setup in the disc you are trying to burn. Logically, you cannot burn a CD without any tracks. To fix this issue, all you need to do is add a single track to your project. The most common place to add this track is at the very beginning of your project. This will result in your burned disc being one long track, however, you can add more tracks if you would like.

To add a single track to the beginning of your project, follow these steps:

1. Place your cursor on the timeline, and move it to the beginning by clicking the ‘Previous Track’ button or pressing the ‘Home’ key on your keyboard. You can also just click down on the timeline with your mouse where you would like the cursor to go.

2. Select ‘CD Track’ from the Insert menu or press the ‘T’ key on your keyboard to insert a track marker at that point.

You should now be able to burn your disc without errors.
