The new Audiophile 24/96 from M-Audio has been an even bigger success than we expected. We received our first batch the other day and completely sold out of them. We have more on the way as you read this so get your orders in now for this fantastic hard disk audio product. The 24/96 is a (you guessed it) 24-bit, 96kHz recording interface for PC computers (Mac version in the works) that costs… sit down folks… a mere $179.97! Now that is truly amazing. Where’s the catch, you ask? There really isn’t one as far as we can tell. It has the same A/D and D/A converters as their Delta 44 and 66 cards, plus it comes with S/PDIF and MIDI I/O on board.
Waves is now shipping version 3 of their plug-ins. Version 3 includes significant updates to many of the individual plug-ins plus the addition of some new plug-ins in some of the bundles. One of the coolest developments with version 3 is the elimination of the much maligned dongle for copy protection. Now all Waves software will use a challenge/response system with an automated interface on their website. Obviously those who already own an older version can upgrade for a nominal fee. For those looking for a bargain we still have a few of the old versions left we’ll be blowing out. Contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer for details.
