Here’s some really good news from the folks at Universal Audio (in their own words) for all UAD-1 owners. Read it and then, if you have questions, call your friendly, knowledgeable Sweetwater Sales Engineer for all the details. “Due to the overwhelming success of the UAD-2, effective immediately, UA is eliminating the UAD-1 to UAD-2 plug-in upgrade fee. The UAD-2 project was an ambitious undertaking, and porting the plug-in library to the new platform has taken a tremendous amount of time and effort. However, as the free plug-in upgrade period is coming to a close – and we’ve only just released version 5.2, which is the first version to have all the UAD-1 plug-ins ported over and offer Pro Tools support – it became obvious that we would at least need to extend the program for these customers.”
“Upon further reflection and taking into account the increasing customer objections to the fees associated with the upgrade program, we have decided to eliminate all fees associated with upgrading from a UAD-1 to UAD-2. We are confident that this will help even more of our UAD-1 customers move up to the new, more powerful UAD-2 platform. For those of you who bought a UAD-2 during the upgrade period, you will have received a Bonus Voucher in appreciation. This bonus voucher promotion will continue for the rest of the 2008, so it’s still a great time to buy. Anyone who registers a UAD-2 card by December 31, 2008, will receive the following:
- UAD$100 voucher for a new UAD-2 Solo, Nevana 32, or Solo Flexi
- UAD$150 voucher for a new UAD-2 Duo, Nevana 64, or Duo Flexi
- UAD$250 voucher for a new UAD-2 Quad, Nevana 128, or Quad Flexi
But hurry, because these vouchers are going away January 1, 2009.”
