Put UAD-powered Plug-ins to Work in Your DAW!

Plug Universal Audio's amazing UAD-2 QUAD Core PCIe card into your computer and find out what your mixes have been missing! Turbocharged with four Analog Devices SHARC chips, this UAD-2 QUAD gives you the awesome DSP power you need to take the load off your CPU, plus the Analog Classics Plus collection - a killer bundle of UAD-powered plug-ins that will infuse your mix with the freakishly realistic sound of studio-standard analog gear. Any way you look at it, the Universal UAD-2 QUAD is a major upgrade to any studio.

Universal Audio UAD-2 QUAD Core DSP Plug-in Acceleration System at a Glance:
  • Experience the power of SHARC chip technology
  • Flexible operation modes for tracking and mixing
  • Analog Classics Plus starts you off with five killer UAD plug-ins
Experience the power of SHARC chip technology

Universal Audio's UAD-2 cards take advantage of state-of-the-art DSP technology, adding serious horsepower to your music-production system. Each of the four SHARC chips onboard boasts 32-bit floating-point architecture, for the ultimate in precision and performance. When put to the test, the power potential of even a single UAD-2 system is more than impressive. Better still, you can mix and match up to four UAD-2 PCIe cards or Satellites, allowing you to meet the processing needs of even the most demanding sessions.

Flexible operation modes for tracking and mixing

Using UAD-2 QUAD's LiveTrack mode, you can reduce latency on active UAD-2 plug-ins to the lowest amount possible. That's just what you need for monitoring processed audio during the live tracking stages. On the mixing side, Universal Audio gave the UAD-2 QUAD a handy LoadLock feature. This useful tool lets you automatically reserve the maximum DSP load that each of your active UAD-2 plug-ins could ever demand, so you'll be certain you have enough DSP to engage features, such as writing automation, later.

Analog Classics Plus starts you off with five killer UAD plug-ins

Universal Audio's Analog Classics Plus collection starts off with a couple of classic UA dynamics processors: the iconic LA-2A audio leveler and 1176LN/SE limiting amplifiers. It's almost unfair how realistic these plug-ins sound, let alone the fact that your UAD-2 card has more than enough power to run several instances of both at once. Then there's a dead-on re-creation of Pultec's legendary EQP-1A program EQ, the Pultec Pro EQ, plus the outstanding RealVerb Pro room modeler. And if that's not enough, you can always pick up more plug-ins a la carte at the UAD store.

Universal Audio UAD-2 QUAD Core DSP Plug-in Acceleration System Features:
  • Powerful DSP-accelerator PCIe card for UAD Powered Plug-ins loaded with 4 x Analog Devices SHARC 21469 floating-point coprocessors for DSP plug-in acceleration

UAD-2 Quad PCIe Card - Fantastic...!!!

Very happy with this purchase. I now have the ability to track and monitor live performances with very professional sounding plugins. I'm now able to insert plugins that create warm analog sound when I record and monitor live performances. I've used many plugins over the years and the UAD system is on another level IMO.Due to the low latency with my new setup I can load more plugins while recording / monitoring live performances. The Quad version allows me to insert a LOT of plugins without any CPU load which helps me get the vibe I'm looking for when tracking / monitoring so I don't have to start from scratch during mix down which makes me feel more like a Producer when recording. Due to the positive experience with the UAD-2 Quad I purchased the Apollo Twin to supplement the work flow. Since I've purchased equipment before from Sweetwater / Dave_Walent, I called Dave directly when placing my order and Dave made the purchase go very smoothly.

Fantastic Emulations that rival the real thing!

Just installed our 3rd UAD 2 QUAD card. 4 or more UA plug-ins on every channel is nothing for us now even with high track counts! There is no way anyone but the biggest studio owners could afford to have this much hardware outside the world of plug-ins. The realism of the sound has been proven to be indistinguishable from the hardware being emulated. Even if you get the lowest horsepower card and render your tracks, you'll be impressed with the sound you can get with the Universal Audio plug-ins. Recommend the hardware (UA mic preamps, etc.) for tracking, and the plug-ins for mixing. Oh, and a great mic like the Sure KSM313. Your work will sound better.

UAD-2

There is no other choice if you want to mix in the box and be competitive with people using tens of thousands of dollars in hardware. Being limited to UAD's DSP is a drag, it's basically the biggest, most expensive dongle in the world, but they've never been cracked and they make the best plug-in hands down. They have the only licensed classic Neve emulations, SSL emulations that put Waves to shame and now API too (among a bunch of others). It goes on and on. From the EMT140 Plate to the Lex 224 to the Studer A800 and Ampex....they simply are the best in a class by themselves. So you pony up for the stupid hardware which is still a fraction of the real EQs, Comps and FX.
