Universal Audio has announced three new plug-ins for their UAD audio DSP accelerators and Apollo audio interfaces. Announced as part of the UAD Software v9.0 update, the API 2500 Bus Compressor, Chandler Limiter Zener Limiter, and A/DA Stereo Tapped Delay plug-ins provide re-creations of classic audio hardware processors in plug-in form.

Developed by Brainworx, the A/DA STD-1 Stereo Tapped Delay plug-in re-creates the classic analog rackmount delay revered by guitarists and recording engineers for its complex modulations and spatial effects.
The Chandler Limited Zener Limiter was created by Softube as an exacting emulation of the high-end Chandler hardware limiter. Based on vintage EMI limiters used on recordings by The Beatles and Pink Floyd, the Zener Limiter plug-in includes artist presets from Tony Maserati (Beyonce, Lady Gaga), Howard Willing (Gavin DeGraw, Smashing Pumpkins), Kevin Kadish (Meghan Trainor, Jason Mraz), and more.

API’s 2500 Bus Compressor is permanently inserted across the stereo buses of many of the world’s top engineers and producers. Working from top-secret circuit schematics provided by API, Universal Audio analyzed and re-created the original 2500 analog circuitry down to the finest detail — they call it one of their “tightest behavioral circuit modesl to date.” The plug-in includes detailed emulation of the 2500’s proprietary “Thrust” circuitry as well as API’s custom transformers and op amps.
