Want more versatility on your pedalboard? Consider adding a second (or third, or fourth, or fifth…) overdrive pedal! Each overdrive offers a different response and tonal shading, so you’ll instantly up the range of tones you can cover. Plus, you can “stack” overdrives — run one into another — to create higher gain sounds. In our experience, this works well when you set the second overdrive for a crunchy, lower gain sound, then hit it with another pedal set for a higher-gain, sustaining sound. The effect is similar to hitting a tube amp set for a crunchy sound with an overdrive or boost pedal.
Speaking of boost pedals, they’re also great candidates for stacking with overdrives!
