Once you have your song recorded, you’ll probably want to convert it to MP3 format. Uncompressed audio files are generally too large to share via e-mail or on Web sites. If you have iTunes, you can convert your tracks to MP3 by going to Preferences > Advanced > Importing and selecting “MP3 Encoder” in the pop-up window beside the “Import Using:” prompt. Once you have iTunes open, go to File > Import and select the track you want to compress. If you choose MP3 encoding, you can choose one of the three quality option presets or by choosing Custom from the Setting pop-up menu, you can also select the Stereo Bit Rate, Variable Bit Rate Encoding (VBR), Sample Rate, Channels, Stereo Mode, Smart Encoding Adjustments, and Filter Frequencies Below 10Hz. All of these are explained in the iTunes Help Menu.
