We’ve featured this one before, but having just done a gig featuring three bands ranging in size from 4-piece to 8-piece, we were reminded just how much this item simplifies life both onstage and in the studio: the Audix CabGrabber.
The CabGrabber is a clamping device that simply slips around the side of your combo amp or speaker cabinet and places the microphone right where you want it, just attach your mic clip, slip the mic in, and you’re ready to go, no stand required. There are two sizes available: regular (which fits most combos and many cabs, from 8″ to 14″ in depth) and XL (for deeper cabs).
The regular-sized CabGrabber even fit in the large pocket on a guitar gig bag. Talk about convenient; you’ll never use a regular mic stand for your amp again!
