Waves almost single-handedly changed the face of mastering from home DAW-based studios with the release of the L1 plug-in a few years ago. It was one of those rare times where something was extremely easy to use, more than lived up to expectations, and most importantly made a profound difference in the sound of people’s recordings. Word spread around the country and world that this was a ‘must have’ plug-in for people doing anything remotely oriented around mastering, including being used as the last process upon mixdown prior to any mastering. Then the L2 hardware Maximizer came out and took a lot of the same concepts to the next level. Now Waves has released the L2 technology in a TDM based plug-in and it is awesome. We’ll give you the same advice about it we did a few years ago with L1. If you have a TDM system run, don’t walk, to the phone, call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer and order it. You will be glad you did.
