When your inSync editor came to work at Sweetwater (too many years ago to talk about) all the heavy hitter engineers in the country were on the hunt for Pultec EQ’s. It’s amazing how much more people seem to want something when it’s hard to find, but I digress. The good news is Manley Labs has recreated the original and made it better than it was before (and it didn’t cost six million dollars). The Manley design stays true to the original, though they did enhance some of the components and add some extra features. The classic sound of the original remains intact, and some users are actually getting rid of temperamental old units in favor of the Manley.
