A playing technique, typically on electric guitar, but potentially on bass, acoustic guitar, and other stringed instruments, where a string is “bent” up a whole step, which equals two frets on a guitar, each fret being a semi-tone apart from the next. The bending can be accomplished either by a finger bend, or by using a tremolo or vibrato bar.
